What is NAET and how can it eliminate my animals' allergies?
In order to fully explain the way NAET can assist in eliminating allergies, we first must define the terms. Most people think of allergies as runny eyes, sneezing, or itchy skin. Although these may be symptoms of an allergic response, they are only a few of the possible reactions an animal might experience.Allergies can appear at any time during an animal's life, from soon after birth to old age. They can be mildly annoying as with pollen allergies, or they can be life-threatening as with bee stings and vaccine reactions. They can also cause an amazing myriad of symptoms which were never thought to be allergic in nature.
What is an allergen? Certainly, pollens, grasses, dust and dander are familiar allergies. But did you know that many foods, vaccines, antibiotics, sunlight, water, and even emotions can cause an allergic reaction? Anything that the body experiences an increased sensitivity to can be considered an allergen. Some of the things your animals may be allergic to can include foods, vitamins and minerals, vaccines, drugs or medications, molds, household dust and dander, fabrics, carpeting, and bedding, insects (fleas, ants, wasps, etc), trees, flowers, grasses, minerals in the water, and even themselves! Many animals who have been tested with NAET have been identified with allergies against their own body organs. This is the basis of autoimmune disease. Emotions can play a role also in health and disease. Sometimes it can be an emotional issue that is blocking the path towards healing.
How can you tell if your animal has allergies? As you have just read, the symptoms can be extremely variable and the list of potential allergens can be extensive. Some of the most common symptoms include: Itchy skin or other lesions, sneezing, runny eyes, coughing, asthma, body or breath odor, diarrhea, constipation, vomiting, hair loss or changing coat color, arthritic joints, behavior problems, seizures, bladder infections, and constant ear infections.
When an animal has multiple allergies, the body can become overwhelmed by the allergic response and "turn against itself", creating severe or chronic diseases like diabetes, pancreatitis, hepatitis, kidney disease, inflammatory bowel disease and asthma. Conventional medicine uses antibiotics and steroids to manage these diseases, but never really cures them. NAET offers a true cure. By re-programming the animal's nervous system to no longer be allergic, the body can finally heal itself.
NAET stands for Nambudripad's Allergy Elimination Technique. Dr. Devi Nambudripad L.Ac., D.C., Ph.D. developed this energy-medicine solution to allergies by her own experiences with allergy treatments. NAET combines Chinese Medicine principles applied through acupressure and kinesiology (the study of muscles). Muscle Response Testing is used to confirm the presence of an allergic reaction, then acupressure is used along the spinal nerves to re-program the body's response to future contact with that substance. The allergen must then be avoided for up to 24 hours after treatment, to allow the new information to permeate the entire nervous system.
When this technique is used in humans, the person's own muscle strength is the indicator (the muscle is strong when the body is not allergic to a substance, but goes weak when the body is allergic). In animals, a human acts as the intermediary between the veterinarian and the patient. It is not painful or invasive, and the animals actually seem to enjoy the treatments!
